Aurora took her first steps at 12 months and 2 weeks. After months of using her walker she finally built up the balance and confidence to just do it! A few weeks on and she’s walking all the time now, but stumbling quite a bit so I’ve got to have eyes in the back of my head!
I’ve wanted her to walk for a while now because I could tell she was ready to, and she’s been desperate to walk around at the park and go on the climbing frames, but she’s not been able to until now. She’s loving being able to get out of the car and not be carried and just walk around places.
The most difficult part is when I need her to wait and stay in one place whilst I’m ordering food or paying for something, and she doesn’t! Not only that but she’s walking so fast i have to run after her to drag her back (which she doesn’t like at all!).
I’ve been trying to find the best shoes to put her in. When she was trying to walk I got her measured at Clarks as they do shoes for when they first start walking and when they’re still just ‘cruising’ but not quite walking. They seem comfy and sturdy but they don’t go with many of her outfits. I’ve been looking for some black pumps and plainish shoes that will go with everything, are comfy and won’t get too dirty!
I got some gorgeous little black high tops from River Island which go with most of her things but I’m worried that they’re not that comfy! Im literally spending most of my free time at the minute online looking at shoes to try and find a nice in between. If anyone can give me any advice please do!!
Love H xx
