My Favourite Mummy Products

Most mums have in common the fact that they want their hair to stay healthy and their skin to remain supple and youthful during pregnancy and after. Whilst pregnant I smothered myself night and day with Bio Oil. I tried loads of products both expensive and not, but my favourite ‘go to’ oil was definitely this one. It felt like it was deeply hydrating as well as drying quite quickly so didn’t leave oil marks on your clothes. I also took regular baths and put baby oil in, which is great as when you come out it really stays on your skin for ages afterwards.

In between oils, one of my favourite mummy products is the Mio Mamma range. You can get it from John Lewis, Mothercare, or from their online store. My favourite was their skin firming moisturiser. It actually felt like it was firing and smelt amazing!

Most people think that stretch marks happen when your skin is stretching, however most peoples stretch marks will appear once the skin is trying to return back to its normal state as its then that the elasticity and suppleness of your skin is actually put to the test! I used this product after giving birth and I must say it was great. Another must to get post pregnancy is a tummy wrap. You can gets loads of different kinds. I got a simple one from amazon that fastened at the front with Velcro. This is great to wear during the day as it speeds up the process of your tummy returning to normal as it tells your abs to bond back together. It also feels really nice on your lower back as you can feel a little vulnerable around there after giving birth.

Even though I breastfed I found that I didn’t loose a lot of my hair at all, in fact it just kept growing and growing. I made sure my diet was super clean and was eating very regularly to make sure I was refuelling to provide the milk, but I also used Pregnacare breastfeeding vitamins. I absolutely swear by these! I used the pregnancy ones and then switched to these when Aurora was born. I swear they kept my hair, skin and nails not only strong and healthy, but my hair actually grew tones! If you’re not breastfeeding they also do ‘new mum’ vitamins.

If for some reason these don’t work for you, Holland and Barrett do a great range for helping your hair stay looking fab for new mums. Anything with Biotin in and B Vitamins are amazing for hair growth. Although you should be carful not to over dose on vitamins especially if you are breastfeeding. Choose one or the other 🙂

I love this Organic Baby range, this one is really nice because mummy and baby can use it for any dry patches or nappy sores. I sometimes use it as lip balm as well!
